And if you don\u2019t have a Pinterest\naccount, your business cannot help these potential clients and customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Pinterest is the third largest search engine<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Third behind Google and YouTube in size,\nPinterest is a search engine\u2014albeit a visual search engine. This means that for\nyour content to do well on this platform, you need to have well-designed pin\nimages or graphics that directly correlate to the content you create.\nBusinesses that create content such as blog posts or even ecommerce products\nwill find Pinterest to be a beneficial addition to their marketing strategy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Creating a Pinterest account for business<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Make sure to upgrade to a Pinterest Business\naccount to take advantage of the analytics Pinterest that provides. This is free\nand very easy to do. Plus, in the future, if you decide to run a Promoted Pin\nCampaign (Pinterest ads), you will need to have a business account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Pinterest is an evergreen platform<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>While Pinterest is a search engine, one of the\neasiest ways to understand it is to compare it to Facebook and Instagram. Where\nPinterest really stands out ahead of these two is the lifetime of your content.\nUnlike Facebook and Instagram where you may have 15 seconds of \u201cfame,\u201d content\non Pinterest is evergreen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Evergreen content means that it never \u201cgoes\naway.\u201d Once something is saved to Pinterest, it is there for good. I love this\nbecause you never know when something may go viral in the future\u2014even a two-year-old\nblog post!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Use your Pinterest account to funnel new clients<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Pinterest is a great way to start warming up a\ncold audience. Remember how I said Pinterest is a visual search engine? Well,\nPinners are all searching for something. That something could be a wedding\nphotographer or a gift for their new mother-in-law or a recipe. And when you\nprovide content as a resource to help the Pinterest user make their life a\nlittle bit easier, they are going to notice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Perhaps you\u2019re a wedding photographer and you\nprovide a checklist printable of all the shots you don\u2019t want to miss during\nyour engagement party as a free email opt-in. This is a great way to provide a\nvaluable resource to potential clients and start a relationship with them. And\nas business owners, we all know that personal relationships are the lifeline to\nsuccess.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<script async=\"\" id=\"_ck_454648\" src=\"https:\/\/forms.convertkit.com\/454648?v=7\"><\/script>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Pinterest can be automated<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>My absolute favorite thing about Pinterest is\nthat I do not have to make new content every single day. Old content can be\nrecycled on Pinterest with a new pin graphic or a different description. It is\neven encouraged to save the same pin to multiple boards\u2014just make sure to\nspread this out over a minimum of 24-hour intervals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Automating Pinterest through <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tailwindapp.com\/i\/twhoneybook\">Tailwind<\/a> can take the\npressure off having to be present on the platform daily. Well, what do you plan to do if Facebook or Instagram closes down\ntomorrow? How do you plan to send traffic to your business website? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even if those two powerhouses stay open\nforever, you are doing your business a disservice by not using Pinterest because\nyou\u2019re missing out on the traffic it can send your website. I\u2019ve worked with\nclients that have as much as 98% of their website traffic coming from Pinterest\nalone.
