They can be more frequent, more reliable, and much more simple.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>For example, you can use something as simple as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/drive\/download\/backup-and-sync\/\">Google Drive<\/a> to automatically backup and save your files.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Mac users also know they can set up <a href=\"https:\/\/support.apple.com\/en-us\/HT201250\">Time Machine<\/a> to automatically backup their computer files on a regular basis.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>If neither of those work for you, a more premium solution like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.acronis.com\/en-us\/personal\/computer-backup\/\">Acronis<\/a> might be a better fit.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>5. You\u2019ve got to constantly nurture your relationship, reach out to new potential clients, follow up on previous pitches, and lots more.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Whew.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Luckily, there are a few tools that can help you automate marketing efforts no matter your marketing style.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Automate your cold-outreach<\/strong><\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>If you\u2019re like me and get lots of new business through cold outreach, you can save loads of time every month with tools like <a href=\"https:\/\/reply.io\">Reply<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>With these kinds of tools, you can write an outreach template and then upload new prospects when you find them. <br \/><br \/>From there, new potential clients will automatically receive your pitch\u2014customized with their name, their business, and the problem you can solve for them.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>It\u2019s really nice. And, from experience, it works.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Automate your email newsletters<\/strong><\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>If you enjoy <a href=\"https:\/\/hbbadmin.reliablepenguin.com\/blog\/6-keys-for-successful-content-marketing\/\">using content marketing to grow your freelance business<\/a>, automating your regular email newsletters can be a huge time-saver.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>For example, try using tools like <a href=\"https:\/\/mailchimp.com\/\">Mailchimp<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/convertkit.com\/\">Convertkit<\/a> to automatically send out your new blog posts to clients and subscribers via email.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Automate your social media<\/strong><\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Finally, if social media is where you see the biggest bang for your marketing buck, consider automating your social efforts to see an even bigger return.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Tools like <a href=\"https:\/\/buffer.com\/\">Buffer<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tailwindapp.com\/\">Tailwind<\/a> can help you reach more people (and hopefully bring in more business) with close to the same amount of work you\u2019re already putting in. Maybe less.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Bonus: a few more tools I use to automate my business<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Look; I\u2019ve been there. You\u2019re hustling hard on growing your freelance business.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>You\u2019re burning the midnight oil, maybe working on the side of a day job, and you\u2019re starting to feel a bit <a href=\"https:\/\/millo.co\/tired-of-working\">tired of working<\/a> so relentlessly.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Whenever I start to feel that way, I ask: what can I outsource or automate.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Here are a few more tools I\u2019ve come across that\u2019ve made a huge difference as I try to avoid business burnout:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>TextExpander<\/strong><\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>This is seriously the most under-rated tool I use. It has completely changed my life and business. And every time I share it with someone else, they wonder:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>\u201cHow did I not know about this thing!?\u201d<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>It\u2019s called <a href=\"https:\/\/textexpander.com\/\">TextExpander<\/a> and it\u2019s genius. With TextExpander you take all the things you type a hundred times a day and you create a shortcode for them.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>For example, if you find yourself always sending the same response to clients that aren\u2019t a good fit, just create a snippet called #notafit and then add the text you find yourself typing over and over again.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>They even have fields so you can customize each snippet with names and other important details. I currently have dozens of snippets that save me hours every week.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>It\u2019s a game changer.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>As an example, TextExpander offers <a href=\"https:\/\/textexpander.com\/entry\/textexpander-4-snippets-for-freelance-writing-job-applications\/\">this sample outreach email template<\/a> for freelance writers.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>IFTTT and Zapier<\/strong><\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Definitely more common, but perhaps not any less impressive or important are two super-helpful automation tools: <a href=\"https:\/\/ifttt.com\/\">IFTTT<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/zapier.com\/\">Zapier<\/a>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Both tools help you connect just about any two well-known apps on the web to help them work together. <br \/><br \/>So when someone joins my Facebook group, their email goes into a spreadsheet, which then pulls from Google Sheets into Mailchimp where they get a \u201cwelcome to the group\u201d email.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>99% automatic. And a major lifesaver.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>If you spend some time with IFTTT or Zapier, I\u2019m sure you\u2019ll start to see connections between apps you use on a regular basis.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>It\u2019s time to take action!<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Ok, enough talking.
